Melkor - Hall of Bats

Oggi vorrei porre la vostra attenzione sull'ultimo disco di Melkor in collaborazione con l'etichetta Kalamine Records, sto parlando di Hall of Bats, un album dark ambient estremamente ben fatto.
Hall è la prima traccia che apre le porte ad una realtà distorta, una discesa verso un ignoto abisso. La sensazione che mi ha dato è "ansia" allo stato puro, a mio giudizio la dark ambient dovrebbe suscitare proprio questo tipo di emozioni e trovo che Melkro con questa traccia ha centrato in pieno l'obbiettivo. L'attenzione ai suoni striduli e acuti è il tocco che rende il primo brano perfetto per aprire Hall of Bats.
In Hollow (seconda traccia) le gocce spazializzate e riverberate che cadono a terra mi fanno immaginare una discesa verso una caverna buia e piena di misteri che si annidano tra le ombre dei pad di Melkor, suoni lontani colmano lo spazio sonoro facendo cercare all'orecchio dell'ascoltatore uno sviluppo che mai arriverà.
Ho apprezzato moltissimo Vertigo (quinta traccia) dove lo status di ansia e paura viene trasmesso con timbriche totalmente diverse rispetto ai precedenti brani, suoni appartenenti al registro delle frequenze medio alte accompagnati da timbriche stridule in lontananza.
Con Abysmal (settima traccia) l'album di conclude, un pad continuo che si muove ma non muta mai forma e una percussione finale lascia l'ascoltatore in uno stato confusionale, il viaggio è terminato… ma lo è davvero? Le sensazioni che ci sono state trasmesse durante tutto l'album trovano sicuramente una conclusione, ma sembra non esserci una risoluzione dello stato d'ansia che ci lascia ancora addosso i pensieri e i timori del meraviglioso viaggio che Melkor ci ha voluto raccontare.
Consiglio a tutti l'ascolto di Hall of Bats, soprattutto agli amanti della dark ambient.

Today I would like to focus on the latest Melkor album in collaboration with Kalamine Records, I'm talking about Hall of Bats, an extremely well done dark ambient album.
Hall is the first trace that opens the doors to a distorted reality, a descent towards an unknown abyss. The feeling it gave me is pure "anxiety", in my opinion the dark ambient should arouse this type of emotion and Melkro hits completely the target with this track. Attention to shrill and high pitched sounds is the touch that makes the first track perfect to open Hall of Bats.
In Hollow (second track) the spatialized and reverberated drops that fall to the ground make me imagine a descent towards a dark cave full of mysteries that nestle among the shadows of the Melkor pads, distant sounds fill the space and the ear of the listener looking for a development that will never come.
I really enjoyed Vertigo (fifth track) where the status of anxiety and fear is transmitted with totally different timbres compared to the previous tracks, there are sounds to the medium-high frequency register accompanied by shrill timbres in the distance.
With Abysmal (seventh track) the album concludes, a continuous pad that moves but never changes and a final percussion leaves the listener in a confused state, the journey is over ... but is it really over? The feelings that have been transmitted to us throughout the album certainly find a conclusion, but there seems to be no resolution of the state of anxiety that still leaves us with the thoughts and fears of the wonderful journey that Melkor wanted to tell us.
I recommend everyone listening to Hall of Bats, especially lovers of the dark ambient.
