Today we are talking about The Swallowing Sky, the new album by grum ~ pe, an English composer active on the electronic music scene since 2005 with his first album The Tyranny of Distance.
grum ~ pe bring us into a sea of his persistent sequencers that marked time in the imaginary space. We find very interesting counterpoints between the sequencers, especially in the eighth track Projectile Motion. The dialogue between the two sequences creates an atmosphere that changes every time.
I also appreciated the diversity of the fifth track which gives the name to the album. The first few minutes are very suggestive, a wonderful chorus of female voices speaking ... then silence ... and the unexpected entry of its magical sequencers that reign on the track.
Throughout the album we find shy sequencers who then turn out to be explosive! I find a sublime work of grum ~ pe, especially in the choice of the placement of the pieces within his project.
The fifth track out of the nine on the album is the most particular, different, full of dualism. Everything perfectly balanced.
It is an album that I recommend to all lovers of sequencers and electronic music. I leave you the link to listen to The Swallowing Sky
